La NiƱa

Merry Solstice!!!! Here is to the sun's return!!! I missed the eclipse last night due to intermittent clouds combined with total exhaustion. Things have been a bit crazy around here lately with work, Seth, Nancy's mom dying, and getting ready for the Solstice ritual which is happening tonight. My health is getting better. It has only taken a year but my vitamin D level is up to 40. A year ago it was 7 which is pretty darn low. I am on some new meds and even though my guts have turned to hamburger I am feeling pretty good. I have actually been going to the gym and am getting back to my usual workouts.

The snow looks very promising for this year with several feet already covering the top of Mt. Spokane. I have been cross country skiing twice and on a couple of hikes. Last week I spent the afternoon up at Mt. Spokane and had a lovely time. The snowmobiliers lost use of the Inland Paper lands so the roads are being groomed for skiers. Mica road is fantastic and there is a lot less blue exhaust in the air. I was skiing on the road as the sun was setting and there were about 10 crows following and circling me. The racket was intense and the whole thing was just weird.

Christmas will be low key with just the three of us hanging out and watching old Simpson's Christmas episodes. I have picked up some on-call shifts so not much extra time off for me. I am posting some random pictures from the past few months. A couple are from our annual trip to Priest Lake in September. The weather was awesome and I got to take a very cold night time skinny dip. Pure pleasure.
